Reciprocal Golf Clubs - Playing Rights Sorrento Bowls Club - Playing Rights Friendly Melbourne Golf Clubs

Members wishing to visit a Club with reciprocal rights must obtain an introduction from the General Manager before making the visit. As a matter of courtesy, members should contact the host Club before the visit to introduce themselves and to arrange tee times, if necessary.

Accommodation reservations at Elanora must also be made through the General Manager of the Sorrento Golf Club.

Reciprocal playing arrangements are held with: -

Members seeking to avail themselves of privileges at any of these clubs should obtain a letter of introduction from the General Managers office at Sorrento before travel.

The reciprocal arrangement with these clubs specifically excludes any privilege for Members and Associates who reside in the same state as the reciprocal Club.

Affiliate Membership of The Sorrento Bowls Club:

 The Club has entering into an arrangement to assist the Bowls Club with greens maintenance. In return the Bowls Club has granted the Golf Club Affiliate member status, which allows Golf Club members the opportunity to use the Bowls Club facilities. The following guidelines we hope will be of assistance to members.

 Outdoor Bowls Season ? September through to March.

Notice Board

All these arrangements are subject to variation and should be read in conjunction with the Bowls Club members black board outside the front of the clubhouse.

Special note should be made of green closures and direction of play.

Arrangements for Social Play (Roll ups)

Dress -  neat casual dress is acceptable. Flat-soled shoes are essential.

Fees -? there are no fees applicable for social play.

Greens -  Generally the small green is available for social play at all times. Care must be taken not to cause inconvenience or disturbance to players on other greens taking part in competition play.

Equipment

Lawn bowls maybe loaned for use on the premises without charge.

 Groups and Guests

One green is generally be available Monday to Saturday from 2pm for groups of up to 30. Where groups exceed ten, 72 hours notice to the Bowls Club house manager is required.

Members may introduce a guest to play with them visitors green fee may apply.

Arrangements for more formal play (Intra Club)

Dress ? neat casual dress is acceptable. Flat-soled shoes are essential.

Fees ? a $5 fee is payable to participate in intra club play (this fee is also payable by Bowls club members).

Standard of play ? Players in intra club play must be passed by Bowls Club coaches.

Coaching

Free coaching is available to Golf Club Members on Sundays at 10.30 am or at other times by prior arrangement.

Clubhouse and Social facilities

Club facilities are available for use in conjunction with bowls activities.

Bowls club Bar operating hours ? from 4.30 pm to close each day except Sunday.

The club facilities are available for hire for private functions by contacting the Bowls Club house manager.

Arrangements at Sorrento Golf Club

Members of Riversdale, Woodlands and Spring Valley Golf Clubs may arrange a game of golf at Sorrento by calling the Pro Shop on 5984 2626.

Subject to availability, Tuesdays (PM only) and Fridays (AM only). These times are only available in non-school holiday times excluding the period 20 December till 20 February (approx), Easter and Public Holidays.

Upon arrival, visitors must produce their Golf Link card and their drivers licence.

Member rate green fees apply. Guests permitted by arrangement.
